How to choose the right class for you?

At Connect we specialise in equipment only Pilates classes with small group reformer classes and fully personalised semi private Pilates classes available. Equipment classes can seem daunting at first, often people who have never been on the equipment say it looks like a modern form of torture device but looks can be deceiving and the Pilates equipment is safe, supportive and lots of fun!

If you are joining Pilates with a specific goal in mind or are recovering from an injury or condition you can join our fully personalised semi private Pilates classes. These classes start with an initial consultation to get to know you, your health and fitness history, your goals and we complete a short movement assessment which identifies your strengths and development areas, this assessment then forms the basis of your fully personalised class plan which is designed to motivate and inspire you to achieve your goals whilst working on your body’s movement needs. Semi private classes have 3 clients to 1 instructor and offer lots of hands-on support for you to get the most out of your workout. To get started with semi private classes contact the studio to book your initial consultation.

Alternatively, if you are injury and condition free and would like to enjoy a full body workout you might choose to join our group reformer classes. These classes are fully choregraphed workouts designed to lengthen, strengthen and tone the body with beginner and intermediate levels available. If you are new to Pilates or haven’t practiced for a while our beginner class is the ideal starting point and as your strength grows and you become more familiar with the exercises and terminology you can transition to our intermediate class. Our group classes have a maximum of 6 clients to 1 instructor and each week we have a new class design to keep things fun and interesting.

If you are pregnant our group reformer classes are safe for the first trimester after this time our fully personalised semi private classes can support you through your pregnancy and after birth. For more information on pre and post-natal Pilates read our blog post on pre and post-natal Pilates.

At Connect We strive to strike the right balance between repetition and variety to keep your mind and body guessing, preventing exercise monotony from setting in and all of our classes have a strong focus on technique using verbal and hands on cues to support you to active the right muscles and get the most out of each exercise. What I love about Pilates is all exercises utilise multiple muscle groups which not only gives you more bang for your buck but also benefits you in everyday life as in our daily activities we are activating several muscle groups at the same time to perform the task at hand.

Feeling a little apprehensive?

It is totally normally to feel apprehensive prior to your first class if you have never experienced the Pilates equipment. When you join us in the studio you can expect a warm welcome from the instructors and clients, we are a super friendly bunch and we have all been a beginner at some point, try to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to get settled and once you start moving the nerves will fall away as the endorphins kick in.
